how the number is decided

Two questions set the price.

1

How much site?

Page count, whether it sells anything, and whether the content changes regularly. A therapist needs one credible page; a store needs checkout, shipping and product pages. Different jobs, different prices, and I’ll happily help you find where you land.

2

Do you want to edit it yourself?

This decides how I build it, not what you get. If yes, we build on a platform with a real editor, and that’s $100 more on the three smaller sites, plus the platform’s own subscription. If you’d rather never think about it, I hand-build it and host it free, forever. Either answer is a good one.

Short version: the hand-built price is lower because there’s no platform licence behind it, and the platform price buys you an editor you drive yourself. Same design care and launch checklist either way.

Built onCan you edit it?What you pay monthlyBuild price
Hand-built, hosted by meNo editor; changes come through me$0 hosting fee. Managed domain & SSL is $50/year, separateLowest
Squarespace / WixYes, easily$25–40 to the platformStandard
WordPressYes, with some hand-holdingHosting, roughly $15+Standard
WebflowYes, with a full CMS$23–49 to the platformPremium
ShopifyYes$39+, plus transaction feesPremium

These are delivery methods, not separate product lines: same design care, same launch checklist, whichever way we build. Hand-built costs less because there’s no platform licence; platform builds cost a little more because you get an editor and can run the site without me.

Where hand-built isn’t the right fit

The hand-built option shines for brochure sites: a few pages, content that rarely changes, nothing sold, nobody logging in. It’s a platform build when:

  • You’re selling online, which deserves a real ecommerce platform
  • You publish regularly and want to do it without me, which needs a CMS
  • You need accounts, member areas, or a booking system beyond a simple embed
  • You’ve told me you want to edit it yourself, and I’ll believe you the first time

when it’s not a fit, I’ll point you to the build that is, cheerfully

The smaller three

hand-built or platform: your pick, $100 apart

Each of these comes two ways: hand-built (I write it by hand and host it free, forever) or platform ($100 more, with a real editor you drive yourself; the platform subscription is paid directly by you). Pick one and the cards show that price.

Hand-built: no platform fee, ever, and you own the files. Changes after launch come through me at $30/hr or the $50/mo Care plan.

Platform: $100 more per site, plus the platform’s own subscription, and you get an editor to drive yourself.

Worth knowing before you choose: a hand-built site doesn’t come with a login. After the first 30 days, changes come through me at $30/hr (one-hour minimum) or through the $50/mo Care plan. If you’d rather edit yourself, the platform option is completely yours to drive. I’ll walk you through both on our call.

The bigger three

platform-built · you edit it yourself

These need a proper platform: a CMS, ecommerce, or more complex functionality than a static site should carry. Built on Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress or Shopify; I recommend based on who’s maintaining it after launch, and you make the call. The platform subscription is paid directly by you.

Small Business Site

4 weeks · 5–7 pages

For clinics, trades, restaurants, salons, studios: a local business ready for a site that works as hard as they do.

  • Discovery call + a page-by-page content plan written for you
  • 5–7 pages: mobile design, not just a mobile version
  • Contact/booking flow routed where it’ll actually be seen
  • Basic booking-system setup included
  • Google Business Profile setup or cleanup
  • Local SEO foundation: metadata, schema, sitemap, Search Console
  • GA4 installed and reading correctly
  • Recorded handover session + 30 days of changes

Not included: copywriting, photography, ecommerce, custom integrations, ongoing SEO work.

Shop

5 weeks · Shopify, Webflow or WooCommerce

For a local maker, boutique or food business selling online for the first time, or upgrading from a theme that’s fighting them.

  • Everything in Small Business Site
  • Store setup and theme customization on your chosen platform
  • Up to 25 products loaded, with variants and images
  • Checkout, shipping zones, tax config, payments connected
  • Abandoned-cart email and welcome flow
  • Training on adding products and fulfilling orders

Not included: product photography, per-product copy, custom app or plugin development, migrating order history. You cover the platform subscription, theme and paid apps.

Scheduled standard rate: $6,695

Company Site

8–10 weeks · quoted to your scope

For a funded startup or established company that needs a full site: CMS, multiple templates, conversion tracking, a blog with genuine structure.

  • Discovery: audience, funnel, what the site has to do
  • Information architecture and wireframes before visual design
  • Webflow build with CMS collections
  • Conversion tracking: GA4, GTM, event taxonomy
  • Technical SEO and AEO built in from the start
  • Basic booking-system setup when relevant
  • Staging, cross-browser QA, documented handover
  • 60 days of post-launch support

Not included: brand identity, ongoing content production, app or product UI, custom backend.

Founding client rate

from $8,240

Scheduled standard rate: from $9,785, typically $9,785–20,600 by scope

All three include one full-site revision after you review the completed build. And if anything I deliver doesn’t match what we agreed, I fix it free, without touching your revision. Fair’s fair.

already have a site?

Site Check: a friendly second opinion.

“We get traffic but nobody calls.” “We’re not showing up on Google.” “It looks fine on my laptop but people say it’s broken on their phone.”

Often these aren’t design problems at all; they’re structure, speed, or a page that never quite asks for anything. The Site Check finds out which, so you can fix the right thing before spending real money on a rebuild you might not even need.

Founding client rate

$405

Scheduled standard rate: $670 · 5 business days

Fully credited toward any build booked within 60 days

What you get

  • A recorded walkthrough of your site, 15–20 minutes, me talking through what I see
  • Written findings: technical, structure, conversion path, SEO + AEO readiness
  • A prioritized fix list, split into “you can do this yourself” and “this needs a build”
  • A 30-minute call to go through it together

Not included: implementing the fixes, content writing, deep competitor research. If you’d like the SEO/AEO recommendations implemented, that’s a separate service we scope together afterward.

after launch

Website Care: so it stays fast, safe and found.

Every Care client gets a live dashboard: uptime, traffic, performance and SEO signals you can check yourself, any time. Care covers your website’s health and performance; the $50/year managed domain & SSL service, hosting and platform licences are their own line items, so you always know exactly what you’re paying for.

Care

$50 /mo

  • Uptime monitoring and backups
  • Platform and plugin updates, security patches
  • Live traffic, performance and SEO dashboard
  • 30 minutes of small changes a month

Dashboard only, no prepared report. Work beyond the allowance is billed separately.

Managed

$205 /mo

  • Everything in Care
  • Monthly health, traffic, performance and SEO review
  • Broken-link and form testing
  • Monthly report, reviewed before it reaches you
  • Up to 2 hours of fixes or content changes

A comfortable default for a business site that has to keep earning.

Growth

$515 /mo

  • Everything in Managed, reviewed weekly
  • Proactive SEO/AEO, traffic and performance monitoring
  • Weekly stats report; anomalies reviewed for action
  • Issues worked on within 5 included hours a month

Anything outside scope is quoted before extra work starts, so no surprises.

  • Minimum term 3 months, then month to month
  • Annual paid upfront gets 2 months free
  • Hand-built site? Care is the easiest way to keep changes flowing, and we’ll chat at handover

the unglamorous essentials, handled

Managed domain & SSL: one small fee.

$50 /year, standard domain

Managed domain, DNS, and SSL are $50 a year for a standard domain, billed separately from Website Care. Your domain is registered in your name, so you remain the legal owner. If you ever want to take it over yourself, it’s transferred to you at no charge.

  • Registration or renewal
  • DNS administration
  • Standard SSL setup, monitoring and renewals
  • Renewal management and responsibility
  • Transfer support, any time, no fee

Three ways in (you pick)

  • I register and manage it: $50 a year covers domain, DNS and SSL, and you stay the registered owner
  • You register it yourself: connecting it and configuring standard SSL is included in the build; renewals stay with you
  • You already have one: pointing it and configuring standard SSL for the new build is included

Specialty domains like .ai and .io, and any paid custom certificate, are quoted before purchase, happily and in writing.

Extras

a short list, on purpose

Most of what you need is already inside the package; these are the few genuine extras. Anything else your project needs, we scope together with a simple written change order, priced for your project.

Basic booking-system setup (smaller sites)$80 / $50$80 on a hand-built site I host; $50 on your own platform, when it supports the booking tool.

A happy note about SEO

Foundational SEO and AEO come built into every website I make: structure, metadata, schema, sitemap, indexing. It’s never an upsell. If you’d like hands-on SEO implementation, content optimization, or dedicated reporting for an existing site, that’s a separate packaged service we scope together, usually after a Site Check, so the plan is based on findings rather than guesses.

the fine print, in large print

How we keep a fixed price fixed.

50% deposit, 50% at launch

The deposit reserves your project and becomes non-refundable once work starts. The balance is due at launch, before handover. Company Sites split into three payments.

Timelines start when the project is ready

The clock starts once the deposit is in and your content is in hand, not at signing. You get 21 days from kickoff to supply content; after that we pause and pick back up at the next opening.

Revisions, plainly

The three smaller sites include two revision rounds (a third is $310). The bigger builds include one full-site revision after your review. And if my work doesn’t match what we agreed, I fix it free, and it never uses your revision.

Scope changes in writing

Even small ones. A one-line change order keeps us both comfortable and the project on track.

I recommend, you decide

The platform recommendation and the reasoning go in the proposal, in writing. You’re the one living with it, so the call is always yours.

One build at a time

You get a real start date before you pay anything, and my full attention once we begin. Site Checks and Care plans run alongside; builds never overlap.

How you can pay

Every invoice is itemized, so you always see exactly what you’re paying for.

Save 3% when you pay by cash, bank deposit, bank transfer, or e-transfer.The discount shows as its own line on your invoice.

You own your website, on every tier. Ownership transfers at final payment, in writing. Hand-built clients receive the actual files; platform clients receive the account access, design assets and project materials.

Checked August 2026 against each provider’s public pricing page: Taylor Web Design, Angarum Media, Brixwork. All three do good work. Brixwork’s plans are real-estate-specific and include specialized functionality, so the comparison shows that a no-subscription option exists, not that the services are identical. Currencies as listed by each provider.
